St. Patrick’s Cathedral is in dire need of a new roof for the church, as well as the attached buildings and rectory offices.
Acadia News spoke with Monsignor Pat Stilla about what exactly was needed. He detailed that the original 1963 concrete roof had had some repairs completed 15 years ago, but it’s time for a full update.
Msgr. Pat estimates that the renovations will cost approximately $2.4M, and that includes:
- replacing the entire church roof
- replacing the entire eavestrough
- (eventually) replacing the flat rooves on attached buildings/rectory offices
There are many ways that the church is trying to fundraise to cover the costs of the iconic church’s roof including a monthly 50/50 draw and a remembrance/memory wall. This space will be available for those who make substantial donations to be able to remember their family, it is currently under construction.
The church also accepts bequests, pledges and corporate donations.
