A Thunder Bay man has been arrested following a robbery with a replica firearm at the Beer Store on Edward Street North, shortly before 7pm Tuesday evening.
When officers arrived they discovered an employee had gone outside the store and requested a male who was loitering on the property to leave. However the male produced and pointed a replica firearm at the employee, who fled back into the store and attempted to lock the male out.
The accused managed to force their way into the store, stole merchandise and fled on foot.
Later on investigators were informed by other officers that a suspect had been located in the Limbrick area. Further investigation helped officers determine the 21-year-old was connected to the robbery.
He has been charged with the following:
• Robbery with Violence
• Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose • Careless Use of a Firearm • Pointing a Firearm • Mischief Under $5,000 • Fail to Comply with SentenceThe accused appeared in bail court today and was remanded into custody for a future appearance date.
