Official results are in for the communities surrounding Thunder Bay,
In Oliver Paipoonge, Lucy Kloosterhuis is back for another term as mayor, joined by councillors, Dan Calvert, Bernie Kamphof, Donna Peacock and Allan Vis.
Sheila Maxwell is the new mayor of Conmee, who previously served as acting mayor following the resignation of Kevin Holland when he was elected to represent the Thunder Bay – Atikokan riding. Grant Arnold and David Maxwell, were among those re-elected to council, and are joined by David Halvorsen and Christopher Allen Kresack.
Shuniah’s Wendy Landry was acclaimed as Mayor and residents in that community have re-elected all members of the previous council, Meghan Chomut, Donna Blunt, Don Smith, and Ron Giardetti.
In O’Connor Township Mayor Jim Vezina, like his Shuniah counterpart, was acclaimed. He is joined by incumbents Alexander Crane and Bishop Racicot, and new councillors John Sobolta and Carly Torkkeli.
Finally over in the Township of Gillies Reeve Wendy Wright was also acclaimed, and will see three members of the previous council, Rudy Buitenhuis, William Groenheide and Elizabeth Jones, be joined by Daniel Vanlenthe.
