Voting for the 2022 Municipal Election has begun with advance polls opening up this morning at the West Arthur Community Centre.
This year voters will have several means to cast their ballot this year including online, drive through, and in person.
City Clerk and Returning officer Krista Power says everything is running smoothly so far, and doesn’t expect any issues to arise, adding for those unsure of voting online that the system is secure.
“This is a vendor that is tried and tested, there’s been significant testing done prior to the election”, she says. “We’re not alone in this over 200 municipalities in Ontario, 42 more than in 2018 are using internet voting in this election.”
Online voting is available 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week until voting closes at 8pm on Election Day – Monday October 24th.
