This call won’t be a spammer or a robocall, it’s actually the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU)looking for your input.
For the next year, residents in Thunder Bay and surrounding districts will be able to partake in a province-wide health survey. The purpose is to shed some light on the needs of local communities.
Will the TBDHU be calling everyone in the city? No. In fact, the survey is in partnership with York University Institute for Social Research in Toronto and they’ll be calling 100 random individuals (18+) each month for the 12-month duration of the survey.
Online responses will also be collected starting in October.
Covering topics around mental health, food access and physical activity.
In total, the voluntary survey will last about 15 minutes and answers will be completely anonymous
The answers collected will help influence decisions about local public health programming and can help raise community awareness about critical public health issues.
Further information about the surveillance system is available through the Health Unit’s website here.
