Fire crews were busy with a couple of big fires.
Fire fighters were called first to Syndicate Ave N on Thursday afternoon to find a garage fully engulfed.
The structure suffered extensive damage, while the house was only lightly damaged from the garage burning.
Crews were then called to Limbrick Ave for another structure fire in a basement apartment of a home. Two upstairs residents were able to escape because of working fire alarms.
The apartment suffered significant damage as a result of the blaze.
It’s a good reminder that working smoke alarms save lives and allow time to evacuate safely.
