The historic James Whalen tug has been submerged in the Kam River since May of this year. Salvage operations to lift the tug out of the water on to dry land will be underway soon.

Toronto Dry Dock was awarded the contract and their tug Salvage Monarch and barge Coastal Titan are en route from Toronto to Thunder Bay. The plan is to take one day for the salvage operation. The last position for the tug was passing through the Welland Canal this afternoon. It should be here this weekend.
