The province has made its first-quarter payment to the city of Thunder Bay for hosting Gateway Casinos.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) announced the $704,604 installment Thursday.
“OLG’s land-based casinos are once again providing an important stream of revenue to gaming host communities through Municipality Contribution Agreements,” said Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance. “Municipalities rely on this funding to maintain essential programs and services, and to help improve the lives of people across Ontario.”
Since the gaming site opened in August 2000, Thunder Bay has received $50,705,221.
