An assault case has become the sixth homicide in Thunder Bay in 2022.
Originally officers responded to a call at a home on May Street North around 7:45 p.m. on May 31st.
Police originally arrested 22-year-old Raejon Raheem Johnson of Toronto on June 2nd.
Investigators were notified that 34-year-old Alan Cory Esquega of Thunder Bay had died as a result of his serious injuries.
With the assistance of the Brantford Police Service, the suspect was re-arrested on Friday.
Arrangements are being made to return to Thunder Bay on a charge of Second-Degree Murder.
The investigation remains ongoing.
