Sol Mamakwa is eager to get back to Queen’s Park and get down to business.
The NDP incumbent easily regained his seat in the riding of Kiiwetinoong last night picking up nearly 56% of the votes.
Mamakwa talks about his immediate priority.
“We need to create that the area up north, northwestern Ontario, as a flood zone so businesses, homes and families can be compensated for the damages that have happened.”
He says he will also be fighting for equity and equality to access of services such as healthcare and bring services closer to home.”
Mamakwa adds he will also address concerns of the possible shipment of nuclear waste from southern Ontario.
As for the election win, Mamakwa says, “It’s a relief. We’ve just been working hard and I’m just glad it’s over and that we can move on and move forward and bring the voice of the people of Kiiwetinoong and make sure that we are heard at Queen’s Park.”
Mamakwa says he believes his party has a big opportunity to make real change.
