Thousands of dollars in damages after a pickup truck hit multiple vehicles and at least one building during a crash.
Police were called to the scene on Kenogami Ave & Red River Rd in the early afternoon on May 10th.
When officers arrived, there was an injured pedestrian along with at extensive damage to a home, two damaged vehicles and damage to a property line fence.
The driver had fled on foot, but Thunder Bay Police were able to identify the likely driver. The male suspect was quickly located and arrested while showing signs of impairment. Police tested the 36 year old Thunder Bay man and it was confirmed that his blood alcohol was close to triple the legal limit.
The injured pedestrian was treated by paramedics who transported them to the regional hospital and confirmed they have a broken leg.
There were a total of five cars damaged, plus the home with damages expected to exceed $300,000.
Five charges are pending against the local resident including drunk driving and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
There was no indication if the driver has valid insured the time of the incident.
