He was named as Aboriginal Entertainer of the Year at the Aboriginal People’s Choice Music Awards, and Chevy Trucks Rising Star of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards. He put out his debut album Life is Calling My Name in 2006 and was known for hits like Beautiful Concept, Pickup Truck and Remember the Music. Sending condolences to his family and friends.
I’m devastated to learn my friend Shane YellowBird has passed away. We just spoke on the phone for an hour less than two weeks ago. He was a gift. His voice and music was beautiful. He was too young. He leaves children behind. My God I’m heartbroken for him 💔 pic.twitter.com/GIgjVROPqd
