The City of Thunder Bay has launched the latest feature for it’s digital strategy; an app that allows those wishing to park on paid city parking to pay on their phones.
Jonathan Paske is the Supervisor for the City’s Parking Authority and detailed that both traditional coin meters and the multi-space machines will stay.
Once you’ve downloaded the app and logged in, you’ll need to enter the four digit number of the area that you’re parking in plus your payment information and license plate number. Thunder Bay has only designated four zones within the city and are all the same hourly rate.
This is available for the more than 1,000 street parking, and surface parking spaces owned by the city where payment is required. Currently, there are no parkades available to be paid for in the app.
Users can also use the app to pay for city issued parking tickets.
