A ship fire was discovered deep in the boiler room by crew.
In the early hours of March 12, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue got a call to Shipyard Rd about a blaze on a ship.
There was only light smoke at the beginning until crews discovered the full fire deep in the boat in the boiler room.
The ship’s crew had successfully kept the fire under control and not let it spread further.
The fire caused extensive damage to the boiler room.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
