On United Nations Peace Day, Thunder Bay’s Rotary Clubs are inviting you to consider how you can bring peace to your community.
United Nations International Day for Peace is held every September 21st.
Jim Madder with the Port Arthur Rotary says since the day was established 30 years ago, almost 200,000 of Peace Poles like the one on Saul Laskin Drive at Marina Park have been installed around the world.
He says it’s meant to encourage you to reflect on what you can do.
“Maybe not stopping wars–although Rotarians have actually do support peace fellows that are involved with that activity–but what we can do as individuals for peace in our community, and the region that we live in,” he says.
To sign up to join the virtual meeting, visit the club’s website.
It was my pleasure to be at the Peace Pole at Marina Park on Wednesday, September 8th with local Rotary Club…
