Who will replace Alvin Fiddler as Grand Chief of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation?
The answer could come Wednesday as Derek Fox is one of two candidates on the ballot while eight individuals are vying for three Deputy Chief posts.
Derek is following in the footsteps of his father Charles, who himself is a former NAN Grand Chief and also served as the Ontario Regional Chief for the Chiefs of Ontario.
The younger Fox was given this advice by his Dad, “Do it with your heart, mind, body, and your spirit. You’re almost giving your life to the people that you’re serving. Acknowledge that you may not have a life of your own. As many people see as political leaders, they’re always on the road travelling and advocating for their people.”
