Another active day for Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry fire crews.
There were 18 new starts Monday, a majority in the Red Lake region.
The area reported eight new fires, including a cluster of four near the Ontario/Manitoba boundary.
There was also a group of three near North Spirit Lake First Nation.
The Sioux Lookout and Dryden districts each recorded three new fires, while Nipigon and Fort Frances each had two.
There are now 149 wildfires burning in the northwest region and 43 are not under control.
