Council is looking at ways to add more wayfinding signs at Centennial Park and Trowbridge Falls.
The idea was first brought up by At-Large Councillor Aldo Ruberto, who says he has been receiving calls from the public who believe navigating the areas can be difficult.
“Talking to individuals that use these parks, especially individuals who use the parks for the first time, it is confusing and it isn’t clear,” said Ruberto.
Many trails at Centennial Park used to be marked with paint to guide travelers, though much of it is faded.
Ruberto says more signs are important as more people are using the park.
“This is COVID, a lot more people are using the park, more than ever before,” explains Ruberto. “We have tourists that come here. When I go to other cities I see clearly you have three kilometers to go, or this is the direction back to your chalet or parking lot.”
Councillors agreed to consider a report at a future council date, which would look at where to put the signs, design, and pricing.
