The Thunder Bay Museum has announced this year’s themed summer camps.
Registration is now open, and the camps are available for children aged six to 12.
Executive Director with the Museum of Thunder Bay Scott Bradley explains the day camps will operate between July 26 and August 27, each week offering a different theme.
“The first week is Movie Mayhem, so lots of stuff related to superheroes, and Disney, and sci-fi, so pretty exciting. A lot of stuff related to the pop-culture kids are into. The next week is Living Things week, and it’s all about plants and animals and how they interact with our environment,” he says. “The following week is Kids Just Want to Have Fun Week, which is more about toys and activities that kids just love. The last week is Most Excellent Adventures Week, which is more about exploration and history.”
There will still be COVID-19 restrictions in place by the time the summer camps kick off. Bradley says there will be a strong focus on following health guidelines, and sanitizing.
“These are indoor camps. We are limited to eight kids and we’re following all of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit guidelines,” explains Bradley. “There’s constant cleaning wherever the kids go in the museum, so the focus is keeping those kids safe and then keeping our staff safe.”
The Executive Director added that interested parents should sign up soon if they want to secure a spot.
