Federal Health Minister and Thunder Bay-Superior North MP Patty Hajdu is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Hajdu received the dose at the CLE Coliseum Saturday and said she felt great afterwards.
There has been some hesitancy around getting a different vaccine from your first as your second dose.
Minister Hajdu mixed doses, and said she trusts the science.
“I’m not concerned about mixing doses at all, in fact as the science has evolved and researchers around the world have been studying vaccination and the virus as it evolves.” said Hajdu. “I have confidence in the research and science is being done on behalf of all of us.”
The minister added the process of getting vaccinated was efficient and well planned out.
“I just want to thank the team at the Thunder Bay Health Unit, what a professional experience they have going on in there with all of the folks immunizing, the health unit is doing a phenomenal job.”
Minister Hajdu’s second shot comes as Canada provided an update on vaccine deliveries, that will see an influx over the summer including 11 million doses of Moderna in July alone.
Hajdu is thankful to live in a country with the opportunity to receive so many doses.
“I feel really grateful to live in a G7 country that has access to not just some vaccine, but enough to vaccinate the entire Canadian population.”
All adults in Ontario will be able to book their second dose starting June 28.
