The Boys & Girls Club of Thunder Bay continues to ramp up for the return of summer camps in July.
Program Director Leeann Skirving said Friday that she’s making sure that the staff is in place to take registrations of children and get the centre ready.

“We are allowed to have four cohorts so we are ready and excited to see these kids come back,” remarked Skirving. “Most of the programming will be outdoors, however we are allowed to have activities inside. We have such a huge facility that we have four actual spaces, which will prevent the cohorts from mixing.”
Camps are allowed to start July 5 under Step One of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen.
Skirving added that parents and children will have a role to play to make this a safe summer.
“Parents will have to send in screenings every day, and the kids won’t be allowed to mix with the other groups,” noted Skirving. “We still can go on outings and we will be able to do our regular activities.”
So far the club has signed up 90 kids for the summer.
