Checking out what’s happening on my trusty Marine Traffic app and find out that the Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker Samuel Risley is still in the marina Friday morning after coming in to handle the icebreaking chores in the harbor.
I also headed over to Egypt to see how things are progressing with the cargo vessel The Ever Given, that is still stuck in the Suez Canal and has been since Tuesday. No word on when the ship will be freed(some estimate a few weeks) but efforts are underway with tugboats(in blue) and a dredger to remove sand and mud from around the port side of the vessel’s bow.
The backlog of ships waiting to get into the canal is growing in the meantime and that is adding to a, excuse the pun, a fleet of memes floating around.
