It’ll still be another month or more before we see crews working on the Marina Park pedestrian overpass bridge.
The city tells us it is waiting for a bit more consistent weather, as coating and painting is one of the first jobs they will pick up.
Crews had been working on rebuilding it last summer, but that was put on hold when unexpected repairs were needed, which pushed coating and painting beyond the needed summer weather.
The bridge has been sitting in the parking lot near the Tourist Pagoda after Thunder Bay city council voted it should be repaired. The $1.3-million price tag is expected to rise, a number the city doesn’t know yet.
