There are currently a dozen Thunder Bay applications for cannabis stores on the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario website waiting for approval.
Of those 12, six are looking to add a second store.
The Toke House with a store on James Street in Westfort wants to complement it with a Current River location on Arundel Street.
J. Supply Co. has asked for a second store at 570 West Arthur Street, Kia Ora Cannabis has applied for a store on Red River Road, Tokyo Smoke looking to set up shop at 572 West Arthur Street.
Rainbow Thunder Bay Cannabis, which opened a store on Bay Street a week ago, wants its May street location approved as well.
Cannabis Plus wants a new location on North Cumberland Street after recently having its Simpson Street location approved.
According to the AGCO there are also six new companies in the mix.
One Plant Thunder Bay wants a location at 911 Fort William Road, Canna Cabana Fort William has applied for a spot at 949 Fort William Road.
Superior Greens has a location in mind at 421 Victora Avenue East, High Society is applying to set up shop on 210 South Algoma, Cannaverse wants to be situated on at 570 Harbour Expressway with Bean Cannabis Shop vying for a spot at 160 Waterloo Street.
If every application were to be approved there could be 18 cannabis stores in the city.
