A number of staff at all three Walmart locations have tested positive for COVID-19.
The company says the nine employees’ last shifts ranged from February 21st and March 3rd.
Most work out of the Memorial Avenue location.
Any coworkers who were in close contact with them have also been sent home, and the company has been working with the health unit to stay on top of the situation.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit says while it completes a “full public health investigation for every positive case and works with all impacted businesses,” it didn’t publically announce the Walmart cases because they did not qualify as an outbreak.
