Two new judges are coming to the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay.
The Attorney General is announcing the appointment of Justices Claudia Belda Perez and Vince Scaramuzza.
Justice Belda Perez has a history with the Nishnawbe Aski Legal Services and the Thunder Bay Law Association. She also developed and implemented the Indian Residential Schools Awareness Project.
Justice Scaramuzza has experience with youth justice, mental health, and Gladue Court, which deals with cases of Indigenous clients. He’s been involved with law courses at George Brown College and Ryerson University.
The two judges will begin their new roles on March 4th.
