2020 is a year that the Current River Ward councillor will look back on proudly.
Andrew Foulds knows it was tough with the COVID-19 pandemic, but getting progress on the Boulevard Lake Dam construction is a highlight that he points to heading into 2021.
Foulds is also proud of the work as chair of the Earth Care Advisory Committee.
“We’ve done some phenomenal work on our sustainability plan. We’re doing some herculean work in developing a climate adaptation plan,” stresses Foulds. “Over the last ten years, those strategic directions have really infiltrated the entire corporation of the city of Thunder Bay. We’ve lead municipally and other organizations are following our lead. We’re recognized as a national leader on this file. We’re just about finished going through a community greenhouse gas inventory and strategic plan.”
The councillor notes the corporation was able to do all of these things because they went through the right channels to obtain money from other levels of government to do the work for the community. Foulds emphasizes the ultimate goal is to be net zero and reduce our carbon footprint.
Foulds feels Thunder Bay is a great place to live, but adds greatness and better are always possible.
