Today is Sinkie Day. Just what is a sinkie? It is the word, who according to the actual organization, means someone who occasionally dines over the kitchen sink, to avoid using more plates and the cleanup after the meal. It was put into place as the day after the American Thanksgiving when people rush out the door to shop on Black Friday.
The Sinkie organization was founded in 1991 with many others who follow the practice. I think at one time or another I have eaten over the sink and maybe you have, when you’re in a hurry to do something and don’t have the time to sit and enjoy a meal that way. There are other variations as well like:
Standing in front of the refrigerator, checking out the leftovers
Drinking any beverage straight from the carton
Eating on the run
Grabbing a bite of something as you head out the door late for work
The popular dashboard dining in the car
Having a lunch of snacks from the vending machine at work
The Sinkie organization says anything that has to do with you having a quick bite, makes you a sinkie. Casual dining, sometimes with a view. So are you a sinkie?
