A TV icon and a proud Canadian has lost his battle with cancer.

Alex Trebek, the host of the popular game show Jeopardy, had been battling Stage 4 pancreatic cancer courageously since March 2019.
Trebek, a native of Sudbury, is a member of the Order of Canada and has a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame in Toronto. He is survived by his wife Jean and three children.
His early career started in news with the CBC before hosting his first quiz show Reach for the Top which pitted top students from high schools against each other. Trebek moved to the United States in 1973 where he hosted a variety of game shows including The Wizard of Odds, High Rollers and Double Dare before landing the job with Jeopardy.
