Our heart goes out to the residents of Fort McMurray Alberta as much of the downtown core flooded yesterday. The community was just rebuilding after the 2016 wildfires and now many have lost their homes again. My family and I called Fort McMurray home for 6 years before we moved here and we are heart broken to see the devastation. The downtown area is surrounded by the Clearwater and Athabasca Rivers and the breakup caused the ice to overflow over the banks and into town.
