If you’re starving for some country music programming, there are some options for shows and specials to binge watch.
Taste of Country put together a list of documentaries, TV shows and specials (13 on the list) that they recommend.
Number one on the list is Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, an 8-part series where she talks about memories and inspirations behind some of her biggest classic songs.
Johnny Cash is well represented with the doc about the time he played at the White House for then-President Richard Nixon with Tricky Dick and the Man in Black and The Gift, a look at Cash’s legacy with full co-operation from the Cash estate and new archival footage.
I highly recommend Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice, a really great documentary with some fellow musicians like Emmylou Harris and Jackson Browne to tell her story.
How about all 6 seasons of Nashville on Hulu or the Canadian drama Heartland on Netflix, among others. Here is the list.
