The city’s homeless shelter is welcoming anyone who wants to raise money and sleep overnight outdoors next month.
Spokesperson Kimberley Kennedy says ‘SleepOUT for Shelter’ gives people a chance to experience homelessness first hand.
She says “It allows individuals to immerse themselves into the lives of Thunder Bay’s homeless population.”
Participants are asked to raise $100 dollars in order to participate, while teams are required to fundraise $400.
The event is happening from 10 pm on March 28th and until 7 am the following day.
All funds raised through this event will go directly to continuing to support the men, women, and youth in the community living in poverty and homelessness that Shelter House supports.
