A strong statement is being made by the leadership in Lac Seul First Nation.
Council members have all signed-off on a resolution developing a new Drug and Alcohol and Trespassing By-law.
It reads that “Council is very concerned about the growing problem of drug abuse and addiction amongst our people. We see the impact drugs and alcohol are having on our family relationships. We see how drugs and alcohol leads to increased crime in our communities.
Leadership are also warning individuals who are exploiting Lac Seul youth and families by selling illicit and illegal drugs and alcohol to cease and desist.
Lac Seul Council is working on a new Drug Strategy, with a “vision to build and maintain a strong and vibrant community where citizens can live, work and play within a healthy and safe environment”.
The community is located about 60 kilometres northeast of Dryden.
