One of the biggest attractions at Marina Park during the Family Day weekend have been the professional snow sculptures.
Minnesota’s Dusty Thune is one of the competitors who will be showing off his talents and tells us, he and his crew are here for the love of the art.
“We’re not so much worried about winning anything we just want the experience.”
One Thune’s creations is Taming the Inland Sea, which shows the Greek god of the sea Poseidon with two seahorses going through the Great Lakes.
Thune says they are working with snow which has been compacted into what amounts to “a giant sugar cube.”
He notes the current weather conditions are ideal for snow sculpting.
