Pressure is being applied on the city to stop the experiment with sodium hydroxide in Current River’s drinking water.
The city says it’s to help reduce the lead content in the water from older pipes.
Rhonda Hanah is part of the citizen’s group Thunder Bay Water Watch that’s calling on the mayor and council to stop the plan.
The group believes a solution would be for city staff to work with homeowners to get lead pipes replaced.
