Police Suspect Arson In North Side Fires

City police are investigating a possible arson involving two vehicles on the city's north side. 

They tell us it happened in the wee hours of Wednesday morning on the 100 block of Machar Avenue after someone called 9-1-1 to report the vehicles were engulfed in flames. 

Police indicate the truck and van involved in the incident suffered extensive damage.

They also note the night prvious a trailer at the same address was set on fire.

Arson Investigation

On December 6, 2017 at 3:45 a.m. TBPS patrol officers attended at Machar Avenue residence regarding a possible arson of two vehicles at the request of Thunder Bay Fire Rescue who were on scene.

At 3:15 a.m. 911 calls were received from individuals who live in the multi-dwelling building in the 100 block of Machar Avenue to report vehicles engulfed in flames. The investigating officer learned that a trailer at the same address had been on fire the previous night and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue had attended to distinguish the flames.

The truck and van involved in this incident suffered extensive damage and have been towed by Thunder Bay Police for further investigation.
