The student union at Confederation College is doing its best to keep students up-to-date for the duration of the teacher’s strike.
The faculty walked off the job today.
President Jodi Afonso says they’ve got a website up and running that stays abreast of the situation.
She says there’s a list of frequently asked questions which students can check into, and there’s also an email link if they still have concerns about their courses.
Many students are worried about their school year and Afonso says SUCCI has developed a program to keep then engaged and to ” keep the stress levels down”.
Meantime, international students at Confederation College will not be able to work extra hours during the strike.
Right now the government allows them to work no more than 20 hours a week while they’re taking courses, and Afonso says that will not change.
