UPDATE Power is coming back on gradually as Thunder Bay Hydro and Hydro One respond to outages.
Hydro One says large outages to the southwest and north of the city should be fixed by 6 o’clock tonight.
The township of Conmee won’t have power back until 11. The community centre is being open for residents to go to until that happens.
In the city, new outages are being reported but most areas are expected to have power back by 6 tonight.
That is what’s happening to our radio station, at the corner of Park and Water.
Here’s the latest list of updates:
City libraries are closed until 1pm.
55 Plus LU Hanger walk for 1pm today, cancelled, as is the 55 Plus Centre on River Street.
Children’s Aid Society is closed, as is WSIB office.
Lakehead University and Confederation College are both open, while the PACI is closed.
St. Jude school is closed.
Hydro One also tells us over 3,000 customers are affected, with power hopefully restored sometime today, but with the weather, that could extend into the overnight and tomorrow.
