The death of a 55 year old man of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning is spurring calls to check to see if your alarms are working.
Thunder Bay Fire’s Anthony Stokaluk says it’s a very sombre reminder of how important it is to have a CO detector.
“The fact that there was a fatality earlier this week shows you the potential dangers of carbon monoxide,” Stokaluk explains. “Again, without an alarm in your home, you would never know it’s there.”
Stokaluk says they’ve dealt with a number of calls for carbon monoxide levels, but this is the first in some time that is this severe.
