Anti-Slaap Legislation Passes To Dismay Of NOMA

The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association says it's disappointed, but not surprised the provincial government has passed so-called "anti-slaap" legislation.

The Protection of Public Participation Act passed third and final reading this week.

NOMA president Dave Canfield says they're still concerned the bill will allow environmental groups to slander the forest industry, without any repercussions.

Canfield says NOMA did suggest some amendments to the bill, but they were not included in the final legislation.
