The Kenora Legion has accepted the resignation of Reverend Sandra Tankard. It’s the latest move after complaints that Tankard’s comment at the Legion’s Remembrance day service were too political. President Jerry Lava says Tankard offered her letter of resignation earlier this week on her own accord. During a meeting last night Lava says the vote to accept the resignation was made in order to benefit both the legion and the work that Tankard does in the community. Lava said that the comments in question were a small fraction of an otherwise excellent service. No decision has been as to when Tankard’s resignation will take effect, however nominations were taken at the meeting to name her replacement as chaplain. (Photo supplied by the Lake)
