Thunder Bay Police say they have a male and female in custody following a standoff at a house on the first block of Heron Street.
The incident began at around 6 o’clock this evening and concluded peacefully at around 9:30.
One area resident, Lucy Piwowarski, appeared to imply that a weapon may have been involved.
She claims a man pointed a gun at her girlfriend and said he was “going to shoot her”.
Piwowarski tells us that apart from some vandalism, the neighbourhood hasn’t encountered anything like this.
Another resident, Jamie Schick, says she grew up in the area and confirms nothing has ever happened to this extent.
The incident forced police to block the area off and to issue a safety warning for people to stay away. (Staff photo)
