Best Solution Is Fix Bridge: Chief

Fort William First Nation's Chief says the best solution to impending traffic problems with Highway 61 construction next year is getting the James Street bridge fixed.

Peter Collins isn't sure closing the highway at night, the option city council approved last night, is the way to go.

He is concerned with safety in the area, wondering how many vehicles will be passing through the community, especially with accidents on 61 causing lengthy delays.

Collins says he met with Indigenous Affairs Minister David Zimmer and MPP Bill Mauro last week in Toronto, trying to find an answer.
