A new partnership could help the fire department get back $100-thousand dollars a year.
The city has agreed to a contract with a company which files claims with insurance companies on behalf of fire departments.
Its spokesperson Chris Carrier explains they’re only able to recover costs for certain types of 911 calls.
Those include property related, motor vehicle and medical calls, which are the largest.
A report from the city says the funds would be put in the fire department’s reserves.
