The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association is heartened by word the province wants to hear from area communities on how they can provide more long term care spaces.
NOMA President Wendy Landry says they want to see regional solutions submitted to the government.
"We're definitely encouraging our membership to make sure that they are preparing to submit proposals to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. We believe that it's very important to keep our seniors in our home communities."
Landry calls it a chance to be creative to come up with solutions in keeping our seniors in their homes and in their home communities.
