“Cowardly” that’s how Prime Minister Trudeau, in a tweet, describes what he’s calling an act of terrorism in Quebec City.
Masked gunmen attacked a mosque, killing 6 people and wounding 8 others.
Quebec Premier Phillippe Couillard is also calling it an act of terrorism.
More than 40 people were said to be in the mosque for evening prayers when the attack occurred. Police made two arrests.
The attack happened amid chaos and protests at airports in the U.S. over the temporary travel ban that was imposed by President Donald Trump late Friday.
It applies to 7 countries where Muslims make up the majority of the populations, but doesn’t apply to those countries where the perpetrators of the most recent acts of terrorism or 9-11, for that matter, came from, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan or the United Arab Emirates.
