Organizers at the 55 Plus Centre want a bigger slice of the city budget pie.
Spokesperson Lorelle Stein wants councillors to put back the two full time positions at the Centre that were cut last year, claiming Thunder Bay’s seniors population is growing rapidly.
Stein explains we have to look to the future and asks why should we destroy something that’s trending?
She claims the city is destroying the success of the program since the many volunteers at the centre are left without anyone to guide them.
Stein will be going before councillors at tonight’s budget meeting to plead her case. (Photo: thunderbay.ca)
