The City’s 2016 budget is clocking in at a 3.8 percent increase to taxpayers.
The fiscal document was released to the public this morning on the City’s website.
Councillor Rebecca Johnson says it’s similar to last year’s increase of 3.18 percent but doesn’t think the community can afford any increases.
The proposed 2016 Net Operating budget of $212.7 million is up $8.9 million or 4.4% over 2015.
The proposed 2016 Net Capital budget of $18.7 million is down $1.6 million or 8.0% over 2015.
Johnson adds the budget also includes a number of user fee increases in the areas of transit, golf, solid waste and boat service fees. (Photo supplied)
