With the weather getting colder, the SOS Street Outreach program is getting busier.
Shelter House recently started the program back up again, and outreach worker Jessica Langille says people took it for granted.
Langille notes they are an essential service and when their funding dried up, they left a lot of people stranded without their help.
A cheque for almost $10,000 was presented to Shelter House Monday afternoon from the Mayor’s Mulligan charity golf tournament.
Mayor Keith Hobbs says he is going to top off the cheque to make it hit the $10,000 mark and hopes other community groups will match the contribution. (Photo by Sheri Leviski Kotyk)
