Dryden-based Cloverbelt Local Food Co-op now has a distribution hub in the Rainy River district for its online farmers’ market.
The hub at Emo Feeds offers a location for the Co-op to distribute local food items ordered by area residents through its website.
Community Coordinator Anita Marcotte says it avoids them having to travel to Dryden.
She notes it also provides local producers with an expanded market.
“We don’t want to be an opposition to any farmers market, in fact, many of the people who are farmer marketers are members of Cloverbelt,” Marcotte explains, “It’s one of the mechanisms that they use to get their product out.”
Marcotte says there are plans to set up other hubs in the district in the future. (File Photo)
